Council 4 Veterans Picnic

Join us for our 16th annual Council 4 Veterans Picnic at the Connecticut Veterans Home in Rocky Hill, CT.

This event is held rain or shine!

Every year we take time out on Memorial Day weekend to thank our veterans for their service to country and to remember those who died protecting our freedoms.

The election of Council 4 AFSCME officers took place on March 15, 2019 at our union headquarters in New Britain, CT.

The results are as follows:

Workers Memorial Day - Hartford Ceremony

On April 26, the unions of the AFL-CIO observe Workers Memorial Day to remember those who have suffered and died on the job and to renew the fight for safe jobs.

This year we will come together to defend hard-won victories by working people from attacks by right-wing politicians and business groups. We will commit to fighting until all workers have safe jobs and the freedom to form unions to seek a better future.

We've got a busy and informative weekend planned. Highlights include workshops, our Member Recognition Dinner and our Women's Committee Gift Basket Charity Auction, which will benefit Safe Futures of New London, a shelter that helps victims of domestic violence and sexual abuse.

Council 4 Grievance Training

This class will focus on the grievance procedure:  what is a grievance/ how to write/just cause/ past practice/invetigation/info requests/process/ timelines.

Council 4 Education Coordinator Joe Aresimowicz will lead the class.
