CT AFL-CIO Convention

The 13th biennial Connecticut AFL-CIO Constitutional Convention will be held from Thursday, October 3 through Friday, October 4, at the Foxwoods Resort Casino.

An official "Call to Convention" will be sent to all affiliates in the first week of August.

NOTE to COUNCIL 4 AFFILIATES: If you have not received your convention mailing by Monday, August 5, please contact [email protected] as soon as possible so they can quickly send you the convention information.

CT AFL-CIO Labor Day Breakfast

The Connecticut AFL-CIO Labor Day Breakfast is an opportunity to honor the contributions of labor to society and reflect on the struggles and rich traditions of the CT labor movement.

Please join us on Friday, August 30th at 8:00 AM as workers from our diverse federation come together to recommit to fighting for a strong labor movement. We also want to recognize the hard work of our local unions as we continue to fight for all workers in Connecticut.

The cost is $25 per person

Labor Day Holiday

Council 4 will be closed in observance of the federal Labor Day holiday.

Hartford Yard Goats "Labor Night 2"

Council 4 AFSCME and AFT Connecticut have teamed up with the Hartford Yard Goats for an additional 2019 season "Organized Labor Night" on Saturday, Aug. 3, 2019 in appreciation of all those who have contributed to America's labor movement.

Recent news reports indicate that the recently passed state budget included $450 million in savings related to state employees. It’s important to reiterate that these reported savings are NOT the result of labor concessions.

The General Assembly adjourned its regular 2019 legislative session June 5, providing Council 4 and the labor movement with an opportunity to reflect on significant accomplishments:

Regular monthly meeting of the Council 4 Conservative Caucus.

Invited guest speaker: Mayor Erin Stewart of New Britain

The meeting is open only to Council 4 AFSCME members in good standing.

SEBAC Leadership Meeting

Regular meeting of delegates to the State Employees Bargaining Agent Coalition (SEBAC), which includes local unions in Council 4 representing Connecticut state employees.

Participation in SEBAC meetings is limited to delegates designated by local union leadership -- please confirm with your local union's elected leaders prior to planning to attend.

Council 4 Presidents + 1 Meeting

The Council 4 Local Presidents Plus 1 meetings is scheduled for 5:00 PM at the downstairs meeting room.

These meetings are for Local Union Presidents and their designees. Please check with your Council 4 Local Union leadership about attending.

Light dinner will be provided at both meetings. You do not have to attend both meetings.
