Council 4 "Presidents + 1" Meeting

A Presidents Plus 1 meeting has been scheduled for Thursday, November 14, 2019.

"Labor to Labor" Election Canvass: Ansonia/Derby

Join your fellow unions for canvassing ahead of the Nov. 5 election. We will knock on union members' doors to talk about the issues and our endorsed candidates. You will receive a brief trainining, prepared script, tukrf list, and be paired up with another union member. Coffee and donuts will be provided.

Council 4 is gearing up for the 2019 municipal elections on Nov. 5, 2019.

This is our opportunity to elect pro-union candidates to local offices, from Town Councils and Boards of Selectmen to Boards of Education and Boards of Finance.

Through our member-led Council 4 PEOPLE Committee, we have interviewed and recommended candidates who share our values and have pledged to respect collective bargaining and workers' rights in their local communities.

Council 4 Civil Rights Committee Meeting

Council 4's Civil Rights Committee will hold a planning meeting on Saturday, Nov. 16 at 11 a.m. at Council 4 headquarters in New Britain.

AFL-CIO Labor Walk: Plainville

The Eastern CT Area Labor Federation is sponsoring a Labor Canvass/Walk for Bill Garrity** in Plainville. Bill is a candidate for Plainville Town Council and is president of AFT Local 3837 (University Health Professionals). He has been endorsed by the AFL-CIO and other unions.

Please meet at the Bristol Central Labor Council. Union volunteers will have walking sheets and other helpful information. Coffee and snacks will be provide.

CT ULA Reception & 40th Anniversary Fundraiser

Members of Council 4-affiliated local unions are invited to attend the annual reception for the John J. Driscoll United Labor Agency (ULA), the Connecticut AFL-CIO's community services agency.

The event takes place at the conclusion of union business on day one of the labor federation's constitutional convention. Tax-deductible donations will benefit ULA's "emergency workers fund" to assist working families in need.

SEBAC Leadership Meeting

Regular meeting of delegates to the State Employees Bargaining Agent Coalition (SEBAC), which includes local unions in Council 4 that represent state employees.
 
Participation in SEBAC meetings is limited to delegates designated by local union leadership -- please confirm with your local union's elected leaders prior to planning to attend.
