Stewards Training

Learn skills for both grievance handling and member mobilization. This Saturday training will provide you with basic labor law information, AFSCME/Council 4 history, structure and learn more about the AFSCME ADVANTAGE Program.

All trainings are through Zoom. Shortly after registration is received you will receive a Zoom invitation specific to your selected training(s).

Council 4 PEOPLE & Statewide Committee

The Statewide and PEOPLE Committees will meet on Tuesday, September 22nd. The committee will interview and consider candidates for endorsement.

These interviews will be conducted via zoom. The link will be emailed to PEOPLE Committee members the week of the 21st.

The open enrollment for state employees usually takes place in July of each year and is effective July 1. The COVID-19 pandemic, however, delayed open enrollment until September, with changes effective on October 1, 2020.

Sept. 4, 2020, HARTFORD, CT -- With Labor Day 2020 around the corner,  a coalition of labor unions, including the Connecticut AFL-CIO, Connecticut Education Association (CEA), State Employee Bargaining Agent Coalition (SEBAC), and Connecticut Service Employee International Union State Council (CT SEIU State Council), launched a television and digital ad campaign this week focused on a people’s recovery budget rather than billionaire bail-outs.
