New Britain, CT – The members of AFSCME Local 2836, representing the State University Organization of Administrative Faculty (SUOAF) have donated $5,000 to the CCSU Foundation.

According to Lisa Marie Bigelow, President of the SUOAF-CCSU Chapter, the funds will help students with demonstrated need to defray the cost of tuition and fees, on-campus room and board, or books.

"We are proud to support the CCSU Foundation and the educational aspirations of our students," said Bigelow, also the university's Director of Institutional Advancement and a CCSU alum. "We are all deeply invested in recruiting and retaining students so they can obtain their degrees and move on to meaningful employment."

SUOAF members presented the donation to Christopher Galligan, CCSU's Vice President for Institutional Advancement.

"We are grateful to SUOAF union members for their continued generosity and their dedicated work on behalf of CCSU students," Galligan commented.

The $5,000 contribution was divided evenly between the statewide SUOAF and Local CCSU Chapters. SUOAF represents more than 800 non-teaching faculty at Central, Eastern, Southern and Western Connecticut State Universities and the Board of Regents.
