AFSCME Council 4 offers a variety trainings and workshops to our members and recently announced several events scheduled for January through June 2023.
Topics include multi-part trainings for stewards, a review of laws public employers must comply with and new member outreach for leaders, a look at what officers and board members need to lead a strong, successful local/chapter, chairing an effective meeting, a review of the Freedom of Information Act, workers' comp, duty of fair representation, workshops on the history of AFSCME and the labor movement, tips and best practices on cybersecurity presented by Council 4’s IT expert Jonny Dailey, and a special training for local treasurers and trustees presented by AFSCME International.
