The Democracy, Unity and Equality (D.U.E.) Justice coalition is coordinating this legislative action focused on the governor and lawmakers in the General Assembly. The purpose is to demand elected leaders pass a moral state budget that asks the ultra-rich and big corporations to pay their fair share toward preserving Connecticut's quality of life for all.

The event was announced at the legislature in early April during an action on the anniversary of the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Members of Council 4-affiliated local unions are encouraged to participate and add their collective voices to this effort.
