CT Essential Workers Fund is now live and accepting applications for reimbursement.

Click here for the CTEW Relief Program website.

The Fund will reimburse eligible essential workers impacted by COVID for lost wages and out-of-pocket medical expenses and provide burial benefits.  Assistance will be provided on a first come, first served basis and applications must be filed by July 20, 2022.  Assistance ends June 30, 2024, or when the money runs out, whichever comes first.
Eligible essential workers are those who:
  • Were included in CDC vaccination phase 1a (all healthcare workers) and 1b (all other essential workers); and
  • Worked in person during period of March 10, 2020 - July 20, 2021
Those with pending workers’ compensation claims may apply, but WC Commission will be notified of any assistance provided to prevent double dipping. Workers’ compensation claims are not required to file for or receive assistance from this fund.

The legislature authorized creation of the fund last June to help ease the financial burden for essential workers who lived in Connecticut, contracted COVID- 19, became ill and were unable to work, or died, between March 10, 2020 and July 20, 2021.

The Connecticut AFL-CIO, Council 4 and other unions worked hard for the creation of the fund as part of our fight for workers' comp presumption.
