Please join us on Friday, August 6 for an outdoor screening of Judas and the Black Messiah, hosted by the Council 4 Civil Rights Committee. This 2021 American biographical drama film is about the betrayal of Fred Hampton (played by Daniel Kaluuya), chairman of the Illinois chapter of the Black Panther Party in late-1960s Chicago, by William O'Neal (played by Lakeith Stanfield), an FBI informant.

The movie will start at dusk, so plan to arrive 7:00 p.m.

This event is also sponsored by the Western Connecticut Area Labor Federation & Eastern Connecticut Area Labor Federation (AFL-CIO). Both organizations are currently accepting applications for the Labor Leadership Academy, which aims to create an exclusive opportunity for a diverse group of rising labor leaders.

The screening will take place outside Council 4 headquarters in New Britain. Food trucks will be on site. Please bring a comfortable chair. You can also watch the movie from your car.
