First Aid, CPR & AED trainings offered

AFSCME offers First Aid, CPR & AED trainings that are certified by the American Red Cross (ARC). 

Members are required to attend at least one in-person session at Council 4 (444 East Main St. New Britain):
  • Friday, mAY 31, 10:00 AM
  • sATURDAY, June 1, 10:00 AM
  • Sunday, June 2, 10:00 AM 
***PLEASE NOTE THAT ONLINE COURSES (2.5 HRS) MUST BE COMPLETED PRIOR TO IN-PERSON SESSION.

ARC certifications are valid for two years and are widely accepted and recognized. However, the level of acceptance and recognition may vary based on employer specific requirements and regional preferences.

ARC FIRST AID, ADULT & CHILD/INFANT CPR/AED

What are the methods of training delivery? 
AFSCME's ARC training is a blended method:

  • Blended learning is a mixed-mode approach that uses self-directed online lessons followed by an in-person, instructor-led skills session in a traditional classroom setting. Note: Learners must complete the online course before participating in the skills session. Online sessions are per your leisure but prior to the selected in-person skills session.

What is the course length?
Blended Learning Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED = Online (2hrs 30 mins) Classroom (2hrs 30 mins).    

What is the cost to members?
Absolutely none!!! Well, technically there may be a small charge if a member loses their certification and needs to have a new one created.
