Essential workers are on the frontlines of the coronavirus crisis, and their unions are organizing critical campaigns to demand protection and enhanced pay for all these “everyday heroes” who care for the sick, keep the buses running, or stock the grocery shelves.

Join allies from around the state for the CT Roundtable on Climate and Jobs Virtual Spring Gathering and hear from a variety of frontline workers about their concerns and what allies in environmental, religious and community groups can do to support them. Those frontline workers include Correction Officer Virginia Ligi of Local 387 of Council 4.

This event will lift up and highlight the efforts that unions are making to fight for their members' safety during this pandemic while they provide the essential services the rest of us depend on. It will also begin a dialogue about organizing to win a more just and sustainable green jobs economy as the state and region begin the process of “reopening.”

This event is free of charge but you must register to join: https://zoom.us/meeting/register/tJAudumrqDoqGN1hZBpqzEFwExFykDiur0qv
