Council 4 Law Enforcement Awards Dinner: Nov 8

LAW ENFORCEMENT AWARDS DINNER

November 8, 2023
6:00 p.m. Appetizers|
7:00 p.m. Dinner

The Law Enforcement Award’s Dinner is an opportunity for Law Enforcement Officers to recognize the life threatening situations these Officers have survived with honor. The Dinner will recognize the support given to officers by their families and will further honor the spouses of our fallen brothers and sisters.

The Awards are divided into four distinct categories:

The Law Enforcement Award will be given to Law Enforcement Officers that risk their lives in the line of duty and survive.  These recipients generally have been involved in firearm related incidents, have been shot, stabbed, hit with vehicles, or have been directly and personally involved in the deadly use of force.

The Law Enforcement Plaques are awarded to Officers that display unusual gallantry and bravery in the line of duty while exposing themselves to potential or imminent injury.  These recipients generally have been involved in disarming dangerous suspects, preventing active suicide attempts, selflessly risking serious harm to protect another, or bold and fearless action in a threatening situation.

The Correctional Preservation of Life Award- A candidate shall be considered based upon an incident or event when the officer takes spontaneous and immediate action in response to a life-threatening illness or injury which would otherwise have resulted in the potential permanent injury or an immediate death.

The Connecticut Correctional Plaque Award- A candidate shall be considered based upon an incident when the officer acted above and beyond normal job responsibilities, knowing that the heroic action had a high probability of resulting in the potential permanent injury or loss of the officer’s own life.
