Ronald Nelson is the President of Council 4. He was previously a Council 4 Vice President, elected to serve a two-year term on April 9, 2022, before being elected as President on April 6, 2024.

Nelson is a Juvenile Detention Officer in Bridgeport, where he has worked for 16 years. He is President of AFSCME Local 749, representing State Judicial Branch Employees in Administrative Services, Court Support Services, External Affairs, Information Technology, and Superior Court Operations Divisions, in addition to employees at Division of Criminal Justice, Division of Public Defender Services, and the Commission on Child Protection.
