Council 4 Building Access Update (May 21, 2020)

May 21, 2020

Effective immediately,  Council 4 is implementing the following guidelines:

Our union office remains closed to members and staff unless essential.

Council 4 requires everyone to:

  1. Wear masks while in building.
  2. Sign in upon entering the building with name and phone number.
  3. Maintain social distance.
  4. Limit occupants to 15 per day entering the building.
  5. Limit meeting size to no more than 5 people.
  6. Not enter the building if you are ill or potentially exposed to COVID-19.

Council 4 is committed to keeping all staff and members safe by discouraging in person meetings, hearings and gatherings until further notice. We are committed to providing excellent service to our Locals and Chapters through technology.

We want to be clear that throughout these difficult times, our staff have been working remotely and effectively. They have successfully developed processes that allow them to handle the needs of all members safely. As things evolve we will review and update these guidelines as necessary.

Council 4 retains the right to deny access to the building if it deems necessary, based on health and safety.

We hope you and your families are safe and sound.

In solidarity,

Jody Barr, Executive Director
AFSCME Council 4
