Coping with Storm Sandy


Hurricane Sandy is expected to pound Connecticut with unprecedented flooding and high winds.Across the state, public schools and colleges are closing their offices, along with many private businesses. Gov. Malloy has ordered many state employees to stay home and state highways to close at 1 p.m.

Council 4 will close at noon on Monday.

Here are some resources to help you weather the storm:

  • Information about how to create an emergency supply kit.
  • Helpful links, including insurance questions, disaster planning and debris maintenance.
  • Governor's Twitter updates on Sandy.
  • Several towns have opened opening emergency shelters. If you need shelter, please call: 2-1-1.

Please stay warm, dry and safe as possible.
