State of Connectict Clerical Bargaining Unit Local 196

Becoming a Steward

The Union Steward should enjoy helping others, and have the desire and initiative to look after the interest of the members.  Also, Union Steward should be available for Stewards and Membership meetings as require in Local 196 Bylaws. Union Stewards are encourage to participate in our annual Steward Training or in any other training available during the year where they will be learning in how to handle grievances and disciplinary matters.

It is very important that the Union Steward be involved in how the local union is functioning. Different stewards get involved in different activities depending on experience, skills and time factors.

If you would like to become a Union Steward and serve our members,  just send a request letter by mail or e-mail to our President at:
