Support Our Pensions
Local 2663 member Todd St. Germain, a Youth Service Officer at Connecticut Juvenile Training School in Middletown, took time out today to listen to the Appropriations Committee debate the pension funding agreement. He said:
"I'm here to educate myself and my co-workers so we can work together to solve this pension problem. We all want something to fall back on when it's time to retire."
Council 4 Executive Director Sal Luciano testified in support of the agreement before the Committee:
This agreement at last moves us to a funding system that does its job for the people of the state and the employees who serve them. Without this change, the state budget balloons from 2024-2032, significantly crowding out dollars for other state services in those years."
