Council 4 Sponsors CT Race in the Park To Help Fight Breast CancerCouncil 4 is again proud to serve as a Ruby Sponsor of the CT Race in the Park on May 8, 2010 at Walnut Hill Park in New Britain, CT. Sponsored by the Connecticut Health Breast Initiative (CBHI), the New Britain-based non-profit dedicated to making a difference locally in the fight against breast cancer through education and research. “As a union of public service workers, we are proud to support the Connecticut Breast Health Initiative’s efforts to further breast cancer research and education,” said Lois Brodeur of Local 714, who chairs the Council 4 Women’s Committee. “Knowing that every penny and dollar raised stay in Connecticut is very reassuring to our members.” In addition to serving as a sponsor, Council 4 will have an AFSCME Green Team participating in the day's event. We will also have a booth in the sponsor's tent, so be sure to stop by, say hello and pick up some union-made products. We encourage all our members to support CBHI and participate in what is always a fun and inspiring day. You can run, walk or just make a financial contribution within your means. If you are a Council 4 member with a story to tell about your fight with breast cancer, or a family member's fight, please be sure to contact Larry Dorman of Council 4 at (860) 612-3855 or by e-mail, ldorman@council4.org Council 4 members and staff are a regular part of the CT Race in the Park.
