Appropriations Committee
Approves Contract
The General
Assembly’s Appropriations Committee on April 17, 2006 voted to approve the P-2
Contract. The contract covers the period beginning July 1, 2006 and ending June
30, 2009. The General Assembly adjourns on May 3, 2006. Click here for a

P-2 Contract Update –
March 23, 2006:
Members Ratify New
Three-Year Contract
A majority
of P-2 employees voted on and ratified the July 1, 2006-June 30, 2009 Agreement
with the State of Connecticut.
The State has been notified of the ratification, and must submit it to the
Legislature for their approval. Please stay tuned to the Council 4 website for
updates on the legislative approval process.

Contract Ratification
Summary and Voting Sites Available
The P-2
Human & Social Services Bargaining Unit reached tentative agreement with
the State on a new three-year contract running from July 1, 2006 through June 30,
2009. The tentative agreement requires ratification by the P-2 Membership.
The contract ratification vote is
scheduled for Wednesday, March 22, 2006 from 11 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at P-2
worksites around the state.

Feb. 28, 2006:
Tentative Contract
Agreement Reached With State
The P-2
Human & Social Services Bargaining Unit of Council 4 AFSCME – representing
Local 269, Local 714 and Local 2663 – has reached tentative agreement with the
State of Connecticut on a new three-year contract beginning July 1, 2006 and
expiring June 30, 2009.
We urge P-2 Bargaining Unit Members
to attend either of two informational meeting on Wednesday, March 8, 2006 at
the Four Points Sheraton Hotel, 275
Research Parkway, Meriden, CT. The first meeting will begin at 7:00 p.m. The second
meeting will begin at 7:30 p.m. The Council 4 and P-2 Negotiating Team
(pictured above) will be on hand to answer any and all questions.
The
tentative agreement requires ratification by the P-2 Membership.

Negotiations Continue On
New Contract
Council 4’s
P-2 (Human and Social Services) Bargaining Unit has begun preparing for the
next round of contract negotiations. The current
contract expires June 30, 2006. Council 4 Staff Representative Jim
French will be the chief spokesman for the P-2 Bargaining Unit.
